What is your favorite fruit? I'm guessing that most of you would have a hard time choosing. Usually we have several "favorites"-- banana in your morning cereal or fresh-squeezed lemons for a glass of lemonade. This time of year it is probably strawberries because they are so red and juicy and lovely to eat this time of year.
Lots of different fruits are mentioned in the Bible. Fruit that grows in the Middle East- figs, olives, dates, etc. Special fruit like pomegranate which are available in juices and as salad toppings and in other ways in the grocery stores.
Galatians 5:22-23 tells us about a different kind of fruit that grows on a different kind of vine. It's the Fruit of the Spirit that believers are supposed to bear in their lives. "The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control."
For the next couple months we're going to talk about these different "fruits" and how we can encourage them to grow in our lives. Hope you will come and discover more about them with me!
With love, Mrs. Bess
