The Importance of the Word of God

As we are learning Big Things about God we've built our knowledge on the foundation of God's Word. God communicated so much in the Bible that allows us to know WHO He is, WHY He desires to have relationship with us, WHAT it means to love and obey Him, HOW He takes care of us.
Here are some more big things to know about the Bible:
God inspired specially called men to write down His words. Some were prophets, some were kings, some were just ordinary fishermen. God gave them the words to write through the Holy Spirit.
God's word is TRUE! Everything that these men wrote is true. Some of the things they wrote are mysterious and hard to understand (even for very smart people who have studied the bible for a long time!) but you can ask God to help you understand some of those things that are hard to figure out!
Everything that God said that is in the Bible points to JESUS! He's our Savior and Redeemer and all God's promises are fulfilled in His beloved son.
God's word can help you to follow Him each and everyday. You can read a psalm or a story about David or one of the letters Paul wrote and you can find guidance for following Him.
I would encourage you and your whole family to take time each day to read the Bible.
Maybe you do it at breakfast before you go to school.
Or maybe it's part of your bedtime routine.
Or maybe you can listen to Scripture Songs while you're riding together in the car.
God's Word will help you all your life long! Read it! Believe it! Know it's for you!
