Have you ever made a paper chain? When I was young, I loved to create paper chains to decorate my room. I could change the colors out for whatever color I liked at the time! They were easy and inexpensive to make and I thought they were so pretty!
When my kids were young, we used to make paper chains to hang up at Christmas time. Sometime we would do an Advent paper chain, counting down the days til December 25th and using it as part of our family devotions. On each piece of the chain, there would be a Bible verse that we would read pointing us to Jesus' birth. It was exciting to see the chain get smaller and smaller until it was Christmas Day! 🎄
I'd like to suggest an activity you could do with your family. Make a paper chain writing out on the slips of colorful paper things that God has given you or done for you: God created all things. God takes care of me. God listens when I pray. God gave us pretty flowers to enjoy. God is powerful!
This week in our classtime together our focus is on Psalm 136. It starts out in this way-- Give thanks to the Lord because he is good. His love continues forever. In this psalm, these words are repeated over and over, like a chorus. Line after line recounts the ways that the psalm writer was thankful to God and they all connect together with the reminder that God's love continues forever!
Everyday it is good to be mindful of how God shows His love to you! I want you to remember that His love never stops! Don't you love knowing that? ☀️🏡🌹
