WELCOME!

Hey everyone!  Glad you have found the Good News Corner for Kids!  This blog is full of fun stuff to help you learn more about walking day by day with Jesus!

Way to Go!

Have you ever celebrated some accomplishment with a high five? Has anyone ever said to you "Way to Go!" when you achieved something important? It's a fairly common phrase we hear, especially when interacting with kids.

But I want to think about "way to go" in a different way. Jesus told his disciples in John 14:6, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." He was talking about the way of salvation. That way was to follow Jesus. He showed His disciples what it meant to follow in His ways. Those disciples taught other people who taught others that came after them. And because we have God's Word that tells us that "way to go", and we have the example of Jesus' followers, we can know the way.

In Psalm 23:5-6, we learn that the way the Good Shepherd leads is at times a difficult path. "You prepare a table... in the presence of my enemies," it says in verse 5. Immediately the reaction is, why would I want to share a table with my enemy?

God's ways are often upside-down and backwards of the world's ways. But we can know that following that way will lead to joy and peace, and an overflowing cup (Psalm 23:5). And goodness and mercy will flow from that cup! And it's not your goodness and mercy- but GOD'S!

This week as we finish up Psalm 23, let's take time to thank God for His upside-down, backwards ways! Take time to remember how God has been faithful, especially in the midst of difficult times. And maybe sing along with this version of Psalm 23: Surely Goodness, Surely Mercy.

I hope this song stays in your heart and mind. Because it means you have stored up God's Word! It will bless you the rest of your life!

With love, Mrs. Bess

My name is Mrs. Bess!

I'm a follower of Jesus and love to teach kids (and sometimes the big people in their lives) what it means to love the Lord with all your heart, soul, mind and strength.  I do that through telling the stories of the wondrous things God has done.
