WELCOME!

Hey everyone!  Glad you have found the Good News Corner for Kids!  This blog is full of fun stuff to help you learn more about walking day by day with Jesus!

What is God?

What is God? is a big question to ask and a big thing to think about!

*When you think of God as Creator, you might imagine Him sort of like Superman or the Hulk- big and powerful enough to do anything (like make a volcano, or put the planet Jupiter in space!)

*When you think of God as Judge you might picture a man in a black robe with a stern expression on his face.

*When you think of God as Father, you might imagine him like your dad who gives you big hugs and tucks you in bed at night.

God "is a spirit and has not a body as men" is an answer that helps us distinguish God from man. We imagine God with human (or superman) characteristics, but God is different from a person. When Moses wanted to see God's glory, he had to stand in a crevice of a rock on Mount Sinai. As God's glory passed by, Moses was covered with God's hand to protect him. No one can see God's face and live because of His holiness.

Even though God is holy and we can't see Him face to face, God is real and God is loving and God wants us to know Him. The best way to get to know Him is to spend time reading the Bible and learning about Him. He wants us to know Him through prayer and worship. He wants us to seek Him and He promises anyone who does will find him. Isaiah 55:6 says, "Seek the Lord while he may be found; call upon him while he is near."

So even though you can't see God with your eyes, if you seek Him you will learn to see Him with your heart and when you do, you will learn to love Him with your heart too!

With love- Mrs. Bess

Seek the Lord while he may be found; call upon him while he is near.
Seek the Lord while he may be found; call upon him while he is near.

About

My name is Mrs. Bess!

I'm a follower of Jesus and love to teach kids (and sometimes the big people in their lives) what it means to love the Lord with all your heart, soul, mind and strength.  I do that through telling the stories of the wondrous things God has done.
