WELCOME!

Hey everyone!  Glad you have found the Good News Corner for Kids!  This blog is full of fun stuff to help you learn more about walking day by day with Jesus!

Can You See Jesus?

One of my favorite books in the Bible is the book of Isaiah in the Old Testament. Isaiah was a prophet who spoke God's Word to God's people and the kings who ruled in the land of Judah centuries before Jesus was born. God gave His people a message of salvation. God wanted the people to know that He was going to fulfill His promise of a Messiah- but they needed to be on the lookout!

He wrote this in Isaiah 9:2, "The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who dwelt in a land of deep darkness, on them has light shone." During the times of the prophets things were dark for God's people. Many of them had turned away from following the Lord and turned to idols. Even so, God said He was going to send a Light to shine on them.

That Light would be the Light of the World; the Resurrection and the Life; the Way, the Truth and the Life= JESUS! He was the fulfillment of God's promise! And this Light came in the world as a baby.

Jesus was the Son of God born just like all other human beings were born. He had a body and eyes and ears and a nose and he cried like a baby and he did all the things any other baby would do. He was God's promise made flesh: "And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth," as the apostle John wrote in John 1:14.

I hope you'll join me as we learn about this on Sunday. I pray your eyes will see who Jesus is and that He will come to be in your heart for eternity! Love, Mrs. Bess

About

My name is Mrs. Bess!

I'm a follower of Jesus and love to teach kids (and sometimes the big people in their lives) what it means to love the Lord with all your heart, soul, mind and strength.  I do that through telling the stories of the wondrous things God has done.
