Great is Thy Faithfulness!

This week in our lesson we are looking at Faithfulness as one of the "fruits" of the spirit. And what better example of faithfulness do we have than of God's faithfulness? God's faithfulness is continual and it is abundant! In His faithfulness to us He meets all our needs!
One of my all-time favorite hymns is "Great is Thy Faithfulness" written by Thomas O. Chisholm. Here are the words to the chorus of that hymn...
Great is Thy faithfulness! Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see;
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided—
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!
Mr. Chisholm reminds the singer that God's faithfulness doesn't change and doesn't fail. It is full of compassion! God's faithfulness is in Summer and Winter and Springtime and harvest time in the Fall. All nature declares God's faithfulness! That in God's faithfulness He has pardoned our sin, He is always with us to guide our way, He gives strength for today and hope for tomorrow. All the blessings we have come from Him!!
Singing those words helps me to remember how very faithful God is and how He helps me to be faithful. Maybe you could sing along with this hymn today? It would be a good song for you to begin to memorize and sing everyday because God is worthy of this praise!
