I Love You!

When a person tells another person, "I love you" they are saying a lot in those three words! They are expressing something deep in their heart for the other one-- often a spouse, or a child, or a parent or a friend.
Often, when you love someone, you express that love by giving them something. Maybe it's a hug or a kiss. Or maybe it's flowers, or maybe its a gift of some kind. When you're little you might draw a picture for your mom or dad, or do something special to let them know you love them.
It's wonderful that we can express those things to people who we have a great affection for, but for those who trust in God, He is the one for whom we should have the GREATEST affection! That's why we bring Him gifts when we come to worship on Sundays. It's because we love Him and we want Him to know it!
This week we are looking at giving offerings to God. It could be money, it could be time, it could be a special talent that we have. Remember, everything we have (our families, our homes, our money, our "stuff") and everything that we can do (our jobs, schoolwork, talents) has come from Him! So when we give back to God, it's saying "THANK YOU and I LOVE YOU" to Him for all He has done for you! Mrs. Bess
