Tending To

Do you know what it means to tend to something?  It means to take good care of something or someone.  Your parents tend to you- they make sure you have food to eat, a bed to sleep in, and clothes to wear.  They also read to you and play with you and do things that make you feel loved.

After God made all creation, including people, God had a special job for Adam and Eve.  He told them take care of the animals, the plants, and to take care of each other.  He told them to have families and to fill the earth.  You’re part of that wonderful plan God had for all that He made. 

What are some things that you can do to take care of God’s creation?  Maybe you could talk about some of these ways with your family.

Planting a garden

Recycling your paper, plastic, and other containers

Putting trash in the trash can so that it doesn’t pollute the earth.

Taking care of a pet

There are so many ways that we can tend to the earth and the animals, take care of and love God's creation. When we do that we bring Him the glory and honor that only God deserves! "Know that the Lord is God. It is He who made us, and we are His!" Psalm 100:3
