Hey everyone!  Glad you have found the Good News Corner for Kids!  This blog is full of fun stuff to help you learn more about walking day by day with Jesus!

Jesus's Jobs

When you think of an office what comes to mind?  Maybe the place where your dad goes each day for his job?  Or maybe there’s a room in your house that is called an “office”?  Or maybe it’s the place at your school where you go to check in if you came to school late or check out if you’re leaving school early.  An office is a place where people got to work and to do their jobs.

In recent years we’ve heard a lot about special people workers called “First Responders”. Often their jobs are not done in an office building.  Instead they might be policemen who patrol the streets to keep everyone safe, or firefighters who respond to emergencies, or doctors or nurses who work at hospitals. We might take time to recognize the importance of those workers at special times or events.

No matter what someone’s job is- whether they are a First Responder or they are a garbage truck driver, or they are a teacher or a fast food worker- everyone’s job is important and helps other people to do their jobs. It’s nice when you tell someone “Thank You” for whatever job they do! So be sure to show your appreciation when you have opportunity.

Did you know Jesus had a job, or actually 3 jobs or “offices”?  Jesus didn’t go into work in an office like your mom or dad might go to.  His job was the work Jesus did as God’s Son.  His 3 jobs were Prophet, Priest, and King.

As a prophet his job was to proclaim the word of God.  And since Jesus  was the Word (John 1:1) he was able to always proclaim what God wanted us to know! As a priest his job was to intercede before God for us (Romans 8:34).  Jesus was the only one who could go before God. Jesus was without sin and was the perfect sacrifice, the one who paid the price for our sin.  As king, Jesus rules over things in this world and over all creation (Matthew 28:18).  When we trust in Jesus, we are saying we want him to be in charge of our hearts and our lives!

That’s a lot that Jesus has to do. And ONLY Jesus can do all those things! It’s a good thing he doesn’t sleep! Zzzzzz

So let's be sure to say, THANK YOU JESUS! for the work that he does for us! And on Sunday, I hope you will join me as we talk about Jesus, our Prophet, Priest, and King!

With love, Mrs. Bess

My name is Mrs. Bess!

I'm a follower of Jesus and love to teach kids (and sometimes the big people in their lives) what it means to love the Lord with all your heart, soul, mind and strength.  I do that through telling the stories of the wondrous things God has done.
