Kindness and Goodness

Kids are often taught by adults to be "kind" and "good". "Good" and "kind" kids are kids that teachers like to have in their class or that neighbors like to have in the neighborhood. They get along with other kids and they don't make a fuss. They share their toys and act nicely to others.
To bear fruit of kindness and goodness (as children or adults) we need Jesus to show us how to truly be kind and good. Jesus was the one who came to earth to show us how to be kind and good. He taught us "the golden rule" of doing unto others as we would have them do to us. He taught us, In everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets. (Matthew 7:12)
True goodness and kindness comes from loving God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength that leads us to love others with His love. Everything in His Word teaches how to do that, if we would take time to read it and make it the foundation of how we live our life.
This week I hope you will take time to consider how kind and good God has been to you. He has been kind to you by giving you things that you can use to show others kindness- inviting a new friend to come over to play at your house or maybe taking a meal to someone who just got out of the hospital.

Maybe you can show goodness through the way you help out your mom and dad at home. God has been good to you by giving you a loving family. And Jesus showed us goodness through obedience to his Father.

I'll be praying for opportunities for you to show goodness and kindness this week! Fruit that reflects the goodness of kindness that Jesus showed to all of us. He came to earth to show the way!
With love, Mrs. Bess
