During Holy Week we are asking our church family to take time to pray! As the big people in church are praying, let’s find ways for our little people to be engaging in prayer too! There are some really great ways to pray with children that you might consider doing during these weeks before Easter:
Take a Prayer Walk Together- Walk in your neighborhood or a park and talk with God lifting up the people on your street or the people you see in the park.

Make Family and Friends Prayer Cards- Write down the names of special people in your life and their prayer needs and place them in a special box or container on your dinner table. Take turns choosing cards and praying for these concerns.

Play the I’m Thankful Game- As you’re riding around together take turns pointing out and praising God for things you are thankful for- a blooming dogwood tree or a rainbow or other things that catch your attention!

A great resource for prayer is 24-7 Prayer. Check out their kids section found at:
They have these helpful recommendations regarding kids and prayer:
Trust that God is speaking to your kids. When you start praying with them and encouraging them to listen for His voice, don’t be afraid to go with it, even when they surprise you with what they come with.
Encourage and affirm your kids’ efforts. If they ask hard questions, remember that you don’t have to have all the answers. It’s okay to say "I don’t know" and then look for the answer together. I hope and pray you find ways and times to pray together soon!
