Making a man
If you were in charge of making a man how would you start?
Maybe with a circle for the head..

Then you could add some hair to protect the head, some eyes to see, a nose to smell, a mouth to taste and talk and some ears to hear...

Then the man needs to be able to do things like
walk and move around so you could give him a body and arms and legs..

When God made man, He made man to do all that He intended for him to do to bring God glory. He gave man a mind (and a brain!), a heart and soul, strength to do the work God wanted him to do. And then God gave the first man a woman to help him do that work God wanted him to do-- to love and take care of creation and of each other.

God knew the perfect way to create man! Our ideas about how a man should be made come from the way God made man. And when God made man, it wasn't just "good" but it was "very good"!
I love these catechism questions that are found in the Children's Shorter Catechism.
Q15. How is man unique?
He bears God's image.
Q16. Who was the first man?
Adam.
Q17. What was Adam like at creation?
He was good.
This Sunday we are going to learn this verse from Psalm 100:3, "Know that the Lord, he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his." God made us, God takes care of us! We are unique because we bear God's image. I pray that we reflect that each and every day!
Rejoicing in all the good things God has done!
Love, Mrs. Bess
