WELCOME!

Hey everyone!  Glad you have found the Good News Corner for Kids!  This blog is full of fun stuff to help you learn more about walking day by day with Jesus!

Oh say can you see?

We've learned some important and very big things about God, haven't we? We've learned that God made us and ALL things. We know that He made us for His own glory and that we bring Him glory by loving Him and doing what He commands. We've learned that there is only one true God and that He is Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

This God, mighty and powerful, is with us every day. He is a Spirit that we can't see, yet because He is a Spirit, He can be everywhere all at the same time! We want to see Him because it might make Him seem more real, but our ability to see Him comes through our heart. When we put our faith and trust in Him, then He opens the "eyes" of our heart-- which is also where love is! When God comes into your heart, He gives you love for Him and love for others.

I want to share a story about a woman who had her heart opened to see God even when her eyes were blind. Her name is Fanny Crosby and she lived a long time ago. She wasn't rich and she lived near New York with her mother and grandmother. God gave her the special ability to "see" and understand things in a wonderful way. And she loved to write poems about those things that God helped her to see.

Some of those poems became hymns that churches around the world have sung for the past two centuries. Oh how she loved the Lord! Even though she couldn't do many things because of her blindness, she was able to show her love for God through the words that she wrote that help us express how much we love God.

What are the gifts God has given you? Maybe you are an artist, or you love to sing or dance? Those are all ways you can show your love to God and bring Him glory. You may think you are too young or too small. Ask God to help you as you grow up. And trust that He can help you, just like He helped Fanny Crosby!

About

My name is Mrs. Bess!

I'm a follower of Jesus and love to teach kids (and sometimes the big people in their lives) what it means to love the Lord with all your heart, soul, mind and strength.  I do that through telling the stories of the wondrous things God has done.
