Shepherd and Sheep

From the time children are very young they learn about sheep and shepherds. One of the first nursery rhymes I can remember is: "Mary had a little lamb, its fleece was white as snow. And everywhere that Mary went, that lamb was sure to go."

In that little ditty we learn a lot of what the relationship is like between a shepherd (or shepherdess in the case of Mary) and his/her flock. Sheep are cared for from when they are born until they are adults. They are led by the shepherd-- to school (in the case of Mary!) or to green pastures and still waters as we know from Psalm 23.
In our Summer of Psalms, we turn to Psalm 23 this week. It's a beautiful prayer that people across the globe have learned and found comfort in. And those who know Jesus as the Good Shepherd recognize Him in the lines of this prayer.
So I hope you'll join me on Sunday as we learn about our very Good Shepherd and how He leads His people.
In the meantime, here's a catchy version of Psalm 23 that you can enjoy singing!
Can't wait to introduce you to this psalm!
With lots of love- Mrs. Bess
