I stand alone on the Word of God

I’m taking it along with me,

I’ll read and pray,

That's a song I have sung many times over the years! I would even call it "an oldie but a goodie..." I've remembered it for more than 50 years! (Go ask your grandma if she can remember it and sing it! If she knows Jesus, I bet she can!)

This week we will be learning about how Jesus is the long-awaited one. That's because for thousands of years, God's people were looking for the promised redeemer. Then Jesus came! And for us who have lived during the last 2,000 years, if we trust that Jesus is God's Son and came to save us from our sin, then we know very well the blessing of Jesus coming to be our redeemer!

That's what every book in the Bible tells us- from beginning to end! You can follow the thread of salvation from Creation to His future return that is pictured in Revelation. And that's why I can sing the verses of that children's song!

• The Bible alone teaches what is TRUE about who God is and how Jesus is His Son

• You can read it every day and learn from it!

• In the Bible we learn how to love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength which helps us to obey!

John 14:21 says, "Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them." 

I hope and pray you will want to learn more about Jesus, "The Long-Awaited One", and that by knowing Jesus you will love to sing the B-I-B-L-E song as well!
