Do you have a treasure box? I have one that holds very special things...
This treasure box was a gift given by my brother on a visit he made to Mexico. The items stored in it were special keepsakes from children at church and from my own children. I love pulling these out and looking at them and remembering they were given to me by special people in my life.
As we continue in our study of the Apostles Creed we are at the point of remembering the special work of salvation that Jesus accomplished on the cross. He took the punishment for our sin and because of that we can go to him and ask him to forgive our sin and show us how to live in the way that pleases God.
Psalm 119:11 reminds us I treasure your word above all else; it keeps me from sinning against you. He is faithful to keep ALL that He has promised in the Bible! Some of those promises are found in the story of a woman who had a special box, with special contents, and she made an offering of those things to Jesus. We'll read that story together this week.
The things that are most special to us are best given to Jesus. We can trust that when we give anything to Jesus he knows how to take care of them.
With love for you and ALL those promises! Mrs. Bess
